THE mistress of the late cardboard billionaire Richard Pratt has returned to court in another attempt to claim part of his riches, saying their relationship was more than just "prostitute and client".

Former Penthouse Pet Madison Ashton sued the packaging baron's ­estate for $10 million after he died in 2009, but lost her case in 2012.

Yesterday she returned to the ­Supreme Court to appeal that decision, saying the elderly multi-billionaire had an "intention to create legal relations" with her after first using her services as an escort.

The court heard they initially had a "prostitute and client" agreement but that changed in November 2003.

In a conversation at that time he asked her to stop working as an escort and become his "kept mistress", sleeping exclusively with him.

She agreed, and yesterday the court was told that she believed this arrangement was not far from a "traditional de facto" relationship.

The court also heard that Pratt had a "voracious appetite for young women like Ms Ashton", and that promising her $5 million wouldn't have been very much money to such a wealthy man.

Ms Ashton, who has worked as an escort since her teens, is now in her 40s and still runs her sex services website under the name Christine McQueen.

She says she banked on Pratt's vow to look after her and her two children.

The court heard that Pratt never wanted their relationship to become public and would have predicted she would sue if things turned sour.

He had previous disputes with his other kept mistresses.

In her initial lawsuit, Ms Ashton claimed Pratt promised to pay her $500,000 a year, set up a $5 million trust for her children, pay her $30,000 annual travel costs and cover her $36,000 annual rent bill.

The payments would be in return for her agreeing to give up her work as a prostitute.

She claimed that she gave up her ­lucrative career in the high-class escort business between 2003 and 2004 to ­become Mr Pratt's mistress.

The packaging king died in 2009 at the age of 74 following a battle with prostate cancer.
