IT was Parramatta's night of shame. A performance of embarrassment and humiliation.
The Sydney Roosters scored nine tries last night to post an historic 50-0 win over the Eels before 18,014 stunned fans at Allianz Stadium.
This was no April fool's joke.
It was the Roosters' biggest winning margin over Parramatta in 66 years and Ricky Stuart's worst loss as an NRL coach.
Were Parramatta that bad or the Roosters that brilliant? The truth lies somewhere in the middle.

Parramatta urgently need a roster overhaul. They need more size in their forwards. They simply cannot compete with the competition's top sides.
Stuart wore a brave face at the post-match press conference. He was obviously gutted at the result but spoke honestly about his side's effort and the future.
"We tried our hearts out tonight but weren't good enough,'' Stuart said.
"They (the Roosters) have one very, very good roster and they were 'on' tonight.

''I have spoken to the players about key messages. We will have some good days and some bad days.
''But I have told them the coaching staff will stick with them during the tough times. When I got here I knew it would be a tough assignment and this shows that.
''I can't say it won't happen again. It will. I hope and want it to turn around quickly but it won't.
''I think the obstruction rule will be fixed before we are.
''But I can't get cranky and upset at a football team trying their hardest. I'd give anything to be winning but we have to realistic.''
Sonny Bill Williams was sensational for the Roosters.
The Roosters led 22-0 at half-time, the onslaught continuing throughout the second half.
Wave after wave, the Roosters kept coming. Parramatta just couldn't stop the tidal wave.
''It was a bit rough out there,'' said Eels co-captain Jarryd Hayne.
''They got a roll-on and momentum. They ran away with it.
''We have to look at the key areas where it went wrong. There were a lot.''

It is easy to kick a team when they are down. And it is easy to kick such a famous side as Parramatta.
But even the fiercest Eels fan would find it difficult securing a positive last night.
''We did our best but they outclassed us,'' Stuart said. ''When you are not as good as other teams, you need everything to go your way.
''It is going to take a long time to turn it around and we will try and do everything we can for the supporters. I feel sorry for our supporters.
''We have to keep building our roster. It's not up to the level of other rosters.''

And the man who stood tall was star recruit Sonny Bill Williams.
It was a five-star effort after a five-year absence.
The Sydney Roosters confirmed last night they are in this premiership up to their necks.
Williams scored a try, off-loaded beautifully and ran with force in his most comprehensive effort since returning to rugby league this year.
He switched to the right side for most of the match but roamed around the field with bad intentions.
''We talked about letting him go and turning up where he wants to,'' said Roosters coach Trent Robinson.
Now he has settled into a rhythm in rugby league, who knows what he can produce.
One thing though is for certain - he has lost none of his magic. He can do anything on a footy field.
He wasn't the only achiever.
Both halves, Mitchell Pearce and James Maloney, were strong while prop Jared Waerea-Hargreaves was powerful.
Winger Roger Tuivasa-Sheck scored three tries last night. What a star he could become.
The Roosters' first half was near-perfect, completing 19 of 20 sets and missing just two tackles.
They out-performed Parramatta in every facet. The home side was too big, too strong, too fast, too committed, too hungry.
''Our attack was more fluent tonight which was nice to see,'' said Robinson.
Roosters skipper Anthony Minichiello added: ''It was a good performance, no doubt about it.''
